The GAC 12x40 Acid-Washed Replacement Filter Cartridge is a refillable 10" x 2.5" cartridge made with acid-washed granular activated carbon for reducing chlorine taste and odor from tap water.
This cartridge can be used alone for chlorine reduction or in tandem with a Bone Char filter for fluoride and chlorine removal. Housings are sold separately.
The granular activated carbon is made from coconut shell and acid washed for extra purity. Rinse off any charcoal dust before use.

GAC1240C-AW is an acid-washed granular activated carbon charcoal made from coconut shell through a high-temperature activation process. Acid and water-soluble ash constituents are greatly reduced by the washing process.
This media has a large surface area, excellent attrition resistance, large pore volume, and chemical stability. It is listed as NSF certified and meets or exceeds Food Chemical Codex, AWWA, and ASTM protocols.
