Bone Char Filter Media
Bone Char 2060-BC is a natural carbon media produced from aged bones. Its surface area and base material support the adsorption of a range of metals, including mercury, lead, aluminum, manganese, and silver, as well as non-metals such as fluoride and bromine.
Bone char differs from activated carbon because it contains both carbon surface area and hydroxyapatite lattice surface area.
Bone Char 2060-BC is listed as Kosher / ANSI 61 Certified.
GAC Filter Media for Chloramine
GAC-2050-S is a non-chemically impregnated granular activated carbon charcoal made from high-quality coconut shell.
The media is surface modified during manufacture to significantly enhance the rapid decomposition of noxious compounds such as sulfides, hydrogen sulfide, chloramine, and other organic species from drinking water.
In comparison studies, GAC-2050-S removed 36% of the chloramine compared to 12% for the “Competitive Product” and 2.4% for standard coconut-based carbon.
Replace the GAC cartridge after 6 months.
