How to Find the Right Replacement Water Filter Part
A replacement cartridge, hose or fitting is easier to choose when you start with the filter you already own. Gather the model name and any part number before comparing products. Similar-looking components can serve different purposes, so appearance alone is not enough to establish a match.
Start with the model and the component
Write down the brand, complete model name and any version information printed on the housing or original paperwork. Then identify the component you need: a filter cartridge, hose, coupling, pump handle, seal or maintenance kit.
For example, Katadyn's Hiker Pro parts sheet lists the maintenance kit and pump-handle kit separately. It also identifies a replacement cartridge. That distinction is useful: replacing a handle is a different purchase from replacing the filtration element. Consult the diagram for your particular model rather than assuming a similarly named kit contains the part you need. Katadyn Hiker Pro parts sheet.
Compare the listing with your existing part
Before ordering, check:
- The exact filter models named in the listing.
- The manufacturer part number, when available.
- Whether the listing is for one component or a kit.
- Hose or cartridge dimensions stated in the listing.
- The connection type and included fittings.
Do not infer that two parts are interchangeable because their photographs look alike. If the information does not establish a match, ask before ordering.
Use a focused parts collection
Browse Katadyn spare parts and accessories or Sawyer spare parts and accessories. For tubing and connections, visit Hoses and Fittings.
These collections help narrow the search; the individual listing is where you should confirm the model and component details. For Vortex equipment, the Vortex collection and Lake Roosevelt demonstration provide a starting point for product information and context, not a compatibility guarantee.
Ask for help with the details ready
Contact Highwater Filters with your model name, part number and a description of the component you need. Have photographs of the housing label, old part and connection ready if requested. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation, cleaning and use after replacing a part.
